We provide a wide ranging multi-disciplinary building design consultancy, consisting of Architects, Building Surveyors, Project Managers, Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Structural / Civil Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Property Advisors, CDM and Fire Advisors. Our focus is to provide services to both the Private and Public sector clients throughout the North of England.

Based in three offices across the North of England, our award winning, integrated multi-disciplinary team has over a decade of experience in delivering a wide range of building projects across many sectors including, Infrastructure, Housing, Education, Industrial and public buildings.

To realise our ambition, we are now seeking two passionate, driven and commercially minded Directors to join our team of likeminded professionals. These new directors will be pivotal in guiding Align Property Partners into new markets and supporting our growth. Our new Technical Director will use networks and client partnerships to engage new and existing clients, secure their future business and inspire clients thinking to enable innovative design to deliver their ambition creating our united legacy. Our new Architect Director will use their pioneering technical excellence to engage talented teams, inspire their thinking and deliver innovation and excellence to our clients.

Role: Director of Architecture
Salary: Competitive

Responsible to: Managing Director as part of the Senior Management Team

 Role purpose:

The Architect Director will be responsible for developing client relationships that secures new and long terms business. Will lead, manage and motivate the architectural team, to execute their duties by creating a clear vision with shared goals in a positive and dynamic business environment. Oversee technical delivery and financial accountability of Architectural team within the multi-discipline organisation.

 Accountabilities:

  • Provide highly visible leadership, management and direction in a manner consistent with the Align Property Partners (APP) core values.
  • Responsible for identifying and developing new area’s and sectors of work and actively developing those new income streams and contribute to the achievement of business growth plan objectives and targets.
  • Effectively assess team and individual strengths and development needs, putting in place appropriate actions / learning requirements to achieve excellence.
  • Effective project manager with shared strategic leadership across APP, being a pivotal member of the Senior Management Team within a multi-disciplinary design consultancy.
  • Deliver a quality design service for all projects that meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • To actively contribute to the annual Business Plan for review and approval by the Board, and working with the Management Team to achieve set goals, on technical delivery, quality and financial performance.
  • Actively contribute to APP plan to become BIM Level 2 accredited.
  • Lead and manage the delivery of a design review service across multi-disciplines, maintaining and promoting high standards of design, construction and contract management and promote Sustainable Design across the team, and within projects wherever possible.
  • Provide active support to the business in the management of key customer relationships.
  • Support local and national sales and bids as appropriate.
  • Set objectives for the architectural team members, appraising their performance annually.
  • Inspire a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring the delivery of demonstrable high quality products and services which embrace quality standards.

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Hold RIBA Chartered Status or similar.
  • Hold an Architectural degree and postgraduate qualification.
  • Substantial post qualified experience.
  • Be able to professionally network.
  • Exceptional experience in working in private practice with knowledge of public sector process.
  • Experienced Team Manager and inspirational leader.
  • Awareness and commitment to the use of digital production techniques including Autodesk Revit & AutoCAD and NBS software.
  • Solid working knowledge across all sectors or the RIBA Plan of Work.

Role: Technical Director (Architecture)
Salary: Competitive
Location: Northallerton and the Yorkshire Region
Responsible to: Director of Architecture as part of a multi-disciplinary Management Team

 Role purpose:

The Technical Director (Architecture) will be responsible for the technical quality of the Architectural team to deliver efficient, customer focused design solutions. Coordinate the quality and efficiency of the technical outputs alongside other design discipline inputs.

 Accountabilities:

  • Manage and lead the architectural team across Align Property Partners’s multi-disciplinary business.
  • Act as technical lead and quality reviewer with regards to architectural deliverables across three offices.
  • Be able to manage production of technical drawings and documents through the various stages of the RIBA Plan of Work.
  • Lead responsibility to deliver APP’s goal to become BIM level 2 accredited through the BIM management team.
  • Manage and co-ordinate the team’s interactions with other disciplines including Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, Structural Engineers, Building and Quantity Surveyors and CDM Advisors, ensuring cohesion and continuity.
  • Manage the production of schedules of work and specifications from the architectural team.
  • Develop talented teams that are proficient in the use of Autodesk Revit AutoCAD and NBS Software.
  • Ensure that the team are mentored in regards their own CPD, releasing their potential and delivering excellence in design.
  • Maintain a constant knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts including full service and design.
  • Support the business in sales and bid work in line with APP growth plan.
  • Attend and chair meetings for Client and Contractor as appropriate.

To succeed in this role you will:

  • Hold RIBA Chartered Status or similar.
  • Hold an Architectural or Technical Degree.
  • Significant post qualified experience.
  • Be an experienced project leader, with the experience to develop talented teams.
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems including all Microsoft packages including Microsoft Project, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD and NBS. Experienced in using Photoshop, Sketch Up and Enscape is desirable.
  • Be able to demonstrate and illustrate knowledge and experience in all aspects of the RIBA Plan of Work, Standard Forms of Contract and building legislation.
