Principal; Caedmon College, Whitby

Dear Applicant

Thank you for taking an interest in our position of Principal at Caedmon College. The information on this site is designed to provide you with a brief introduction to our school - we hope that you will find this useful and will take the opportunity to apply for the post.

Caedmon College, Whitby became an 11 – 19 yrs school in 2014 following an amalgamation of Caedmon School (11 - 14yrs) and Whitby Community College (14 - 19 yrs). Our current Principal is retiring after ten years in post.

Situated in the coastal town of Whitby, the College serves both Whitby town and the surrounding rural area and its sixth form is the only post 16 provision within a twenty mile radius. The College operates across two sites that are within easy walking distance of each other.

The College was rated Good by Ofsted in 2017.

The pupils, staff, parents and governors are proud of the College where students are well-behaved and have a positive attitude towards their learning.

As Principal of Caedmon College, you will be at the forefront of developing relationships and collaborations with the wider community, developing our provision to serve the needs of local people and, above all, sharing our vision for excellence.
In a changing educational environment, there will be many exciting challenges ahead.

We would encourage you to visit Caedmon College in advance of your application to experience our culture and ethos for yourself.
