About the role  About the school

Dear Applicant,

On behalf of myself and the governing body, thank you for your interest in our position of Assistant Headteacher.  In this Senior Leadership Team position you will have strategic leadership for key school improvement threads – anticipated to be Maths and Spiritual, Moral, Social and Cultural (SMSC) development in the first instance.

In your capacity as Maths lead, you will contribute to continuous improvements to our standards in maths, from nursery age pupils through to those making the transition to high school; as SMSC strategic lead you will work with other subject leaders to convene and be accountable for the rich social, moral, spiritual and cultural threads of work which we are  very proud of through our school council, curriculum offer and high impact school ethos.

In addition to being an excellent classroom practitioner, you will inspire the learning and development of a large number of pupils, in a busy, thriving and successful primary school.  You will work in collaboration with leaders, staff and governors and be wholeheartedly committed to creating a culture that enables our pupils to thrive and excel.  You will lead key aspects of our school improvement plan and actively participate in our journey to becoming an Ofsted rated outstanding school.

I am extremely proud of leading a school which has impeccable pupil behaviour and highly motivated students. We have 8 junior classes, 6 infant classes and a nursery which offers flexible provision for up to 26 children per session.  You will join our current team, comprising Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher, 15 full time equivalent teaching staff, 9 class-based teaching assistants, 6 teaching assistants, 5 Higher Learning Teaching Assistants and a superb administrative team.
