Dear Headteacher Applicant

Thank you very much for taking an interest in the position of Headteacher at Roecliffe Church of England Primary School. I hope that you will find the information provided a useful introduction to our school and that you will take the opportunity to apply for the post.

The children, staff, parents, governors and our community are proud of our school. The atmosphere in school is very friendly and welcoming. Our children are confident, communicative, polite and very well-mannered.

Our governors are seeking to appoint a leader who will build on the school’s many strengths. The role will very much focus on raising standards, maintaining and developing relationships and collaborations with the wider community and ensuring that we meet the needs of all our children.

In the changing educational environment, there will be many exciting challenges ahead. The school has the benefit of a highly committed, experienced, and loyal team of staff, supportive parents and an extremely supportive governing body.

I would encourage you to visit our school in advance of your application and see for yourself the enthusiasm that our children have for their education. Such a visit is not part of the selection process, and whether or not applicants have visited will not influence the final outcome. To arrange a visit, please email: governors@roecliffe.n-yorks.sch.uk. As a relatively small school, we have planned times/dates when visits can easily be accommodated (detailed below). However, should you not be in a position to attend during these times, please contact us and we will endeavour to make alternative arrangements.

Visit times/dates

Wednesday 27 June - 1pm - 3.30pm

Monday 2 & Wednesday 4 July - 2.30pm - 4pm

I hope you find the information provided useful and informative and that it will encourage you to apply. On behalf of the governing body, thank you again for your interest in our School.

Yours faithfully,

Stephen Jarvis

Chair of Governors
